A study of prompt Ξ c+ production in proton-lead collisions is performed with the LHCb experiment at a center-of-mass energy per nucleon pair of 8.16 TeV in 2016 in p Pb and Pb p collisions with an estimated integrated luminosity of approximately 12.5 and 17.4 nb− 1, respectively. The Ξ c+ production cross section, as well as the Ξ c+ to Λ c+ production cross-section ratio, are measured as a function of the transverse momentum and rapidity and compared to the latest theory predictions. The forward-backward asymmetry is also measured as a function of the Ξ c+ transverse momentum. The results provide strong constraints on theoretical calculation and are a unique input for hadronization studies in different collision systems.

With a sample of events accumulated with the BESIII detector, we analyze the decays via the process . The branching fractions are measured to be $\mathcal{B}(\eta'\rightarrow\pi^+\pi^-e^+e^-)=(2.45\pm0.02(\rm{stat.})\pm0.08(\rm{syst.})) \times10^{-3}$ and $\mathcal{B}(\eta'\rightarrow\pi^+\pi^-\mu^+\mu^-)=(2.16\pm0.12(\rm{stat.})\pm0.06(\rm{syst.}))\times10^{-5}$, and the ratio is $\frac{\mathcal{B}(\eta'\rightarrow\pi^{+}\pi^{-}e^{+}e^{-})}{\mathcal{B}(\eta'\rightarrow\pi^{+}\pi^{-}\mu^{+}\mu^{-})} = 113.4\pm0.9(\rm{stat.})\pm3.7(\rm{syst.})$. In addition, by combining the and decays, the slope parameter of the electromagnetic transition form factor is measured to be , which is consistent with previous measurements from BESIII and theoretical predictions from the VMD model. The asymmetry in the angle between the and decay planes, which has the potential to reveal the -violation originating from an unconventional electric dipole transition, is also investigated. The asymmetry parameters are determined to be $\mathcal{A}_{CP}(\eta'\rightarrow\pi^+\pi^-e^+e^-)=(-0.21\pm0.73(\rm{stat.})\pm0.01(\rm{syst.}))\%$ and $\mathcal{A}_{CP}(\eta'\rightarrow\pi^+\pi^-\mu^+\mu^-)=(0.62\pm4.71(\rm{stat.})\pm0.08(\rm{syst.}))\%$, implying that no evidence of -violation is observed at the present statistics. Finally, an axion-like particle is searched for via the decay , and upper limits of the branching fractions are presented for the mass assumptions of the axion-like particle in the range of .

Using data samples collected with the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII storage ring, the cross section of the inclusive process , normalized by the total cross section of , is measured at eight center-of-mass energy points from 2.0000 GeV to 3.6710 GeV. These are the first measurements with momentum dependence in this energy region. Our measurement shows a significant discrepancy from calculations with the existing fragmentation functions. To address this discrepancy, a new QCD analysis is performed at the next-to-next-to-leading order with hadron mass corrections and higher twist effects, which can explain both the established high-energy data and our measurements reasonably well.

With the input of from the global fit in the standard model, we determine . The absolute branching fractions of and are determined as and . Combining these results with those of previous BESIII measurements on their semielectronic counterparts from the same data sample, we test lepton flavor universality by measuring the branching fraction ratios and ${\mathcal B}_{D^+\to f_0(500) \mu^+\nu_\mu}/{\mathcal B}_{D^+\to f_0(500) e^+\nu_e}=1.14\pm0.28$, which are compatible with the standard model expectation.

Using a sample of 10 billion J/psi events collected with the BESIII detector, the decays eta' -> pi())pi(-)pi())pi(-), eta' -> pi())pi(-)pi(0)pi(0 )and eta'-> 4 pi(0 )are studied via the process J/psi -> gamma eta'. The branching fractions of eta'->pi())pi(-)pi())pi(- )and eta'->pi())pi(-)pi(0)pi(0 )are measured to be(8.56 +/- 0.25(stat)+/- 0.23(syst))x10(-5 )and (2.12 +/- 0.12(stat)+/- 0.10(syst))x10(-4), respectively, which are consistent with previous measurements but with improved precision. No significant eta'-> 4 pi(0 )signal is observed, and the upper limit on the branching fraction of this decay is determined to be less than 1.24x10(-5 )at the 90% confidence level. In addition, an amplitude analysis of eta'->pi)pi-pi)pi-is performed to extract the doubly virtual isovector form factor alpha for the first time. The measured value of alpha = 1.22 +/- 0.33(stat) +/- 0.04(syst), is in agreement with the prediction of the vector meson dominance model.

The LHCb collaboration measures production of the exotic hadron χc1 (3872) in proton-nucleus collisions for the first time. Comparison with the charmonium state ψ (2S) suggests that the exotic χc1 (3872) experiences different dynamics in the nuclear medium than conventional hadrons, and comparison with data from protonproton collisions indicates that the presence of the nucleus may modify χc1 (3872) production rates. This is the first measurement of the nuclear modification factor of an exotic hadron.

Using (10 087±44)× 10 6 J/ψ events collected with the BESIII detector, numerous Ξ− and Λ decay asymmetry parameters are simultaneously determined from the process J/ψ→ Ξ− Ξ+→ Λ (p π−) π− Λ (n π 0) π+ and its charge-conjugate channel. The precisions of α Λ 0 for Λ→ n π 0 and α Λ 0 for Λ→ n π 0 compared to world averages are improved by factors of 4 and 1.7, respectively. The ratio of decay asymmetry parameters of Λ→ n π 0 to that of Λ→ p π−,⟨ α Λ 0⟩/⟨ α Λ−⟩, is determined to be 0.873±0.01 2− 0.010+ 0.011, where the first and the second uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively. The ratio is smaller than unity more than 5 σ, which signifies the existence of the Δ I= 3/2 transition in Λ for the first time. Besides, we test for C P symmetry in Ξ−→ Λ π− and in Λ→ n π 0 with the best precision to date.

By analyzing 7.33 fb− 1 of e+ e− annihilation data collected at center-of-mass energies between 4.128 and 4.226 GeV with the BESIII detector, we report the observation of the semileptonic decay D s+→ η′ μ+ ν μ, with a statistical significance larger than 10 σ, and the measurements of the D s+→ η μ+ ν μ and D s+→ η′ μ+ ν μ decay dynamics for the first time. Combined with the results for the decays D s+→ η e+ ν e and D s+→ η′ e+ ν e, the ratios of the decay widths are examined both inclusively and in several ℓ+ ν ℓ four-momentum transfer ranges. No evidence for lepton flavor universality violation is found within the current statistics. The products …

Using a sample of (10087±44)×10^{6} J/ψ events, which is about 45 times larger than that was previously analyzed, a further investigation on the J/ψ→γ3(π^{+}π^{-}) decay is performed. A significant distortion at 1.84 GeV/c^{2} in the line shape of the 3(π^{+}π^{-}) invariant mass spectrum is observed for the first time, which could be resolved by two overlapping resonant structures, X(1840) and X(1880). The new state X(1880) is observed with a statistical significance larger than 10σ. The mass and width of X(1880) are determined to be 1882.1±1.7±0.7 MeV/c^{2} and 30.7±5.5±2.4 MeV, respectively, which indicates the existence of a pp[over ¯] bound state.

We present cross sections for the reaction at center-of-mass energies ranging from 3.51 GeV to 4.95 GeV using data samples collected in the BESIII experiment, corresponding to a total integrated luminosity of 26.5 fb. The ratio of neutral-to-charged kaon form factors at large momentum transfers () is determined to be , which indicates a small but significant effect of flavor-SU(3) breaking in the kaon wave function, and consequently excludes the possibility that flavor-SU(3) breaking is the primary reason for the strong experimental violation of the pQCD prediction , where and are the form factors, and and are the decay constants of charged pions and kaons, respectively. We also observe a significant signal for the charmless decay for the first time. Within a contour of the likelihood value, the the branching fraction for is determined to be , and the relative phase between the continuum and amplitudes is . The branching fraction is in good agreement with the - and -wave charmonia mixing scheme proposed in the interpretation of the " puzzle" between and decays.

We perform for the first time an amplitude analysis of the decay D+→ K S 0 π+ η and report the observation of the decay D+→ K S 0 a 0 (980)+ using 2.93 fb− 1 of e+ e− collision data taken at a center-of-mass energy of 3.773 GeV with the BESIII detector. As the only W-annihilation-free decay among D to a 0 (980) pseudoscalar, D+→ K S 0 a 0 (980)+ is the ideal decay in extracting the contributions of the W-emission amplitudes involving a 0 (980) and to study the final-state interactions. The absolute branching fraction of D+→ K S 0 π+ η is measured to be (1.27±0.0 4 stat±0.0 3 syst)%. The branching fractions of intermediate processes D+→ K S 0 a 0 (980)+ with a 0 (980)+→ π+ η and D+→ π+ K 0*(1430) 0 with K 0*(1430) 0→ K S 0 η are measured to be (1.33±0.0 5 stat±0.0 4 syst)% and (0.14±0.0 3 stat±0.0 1 syst)%, respectively.
