A new construction of the associahedron was recently given by Arkani‐Hamed, Bai, He, and Yan in connection with the physics of scattering amplitudes. We show that their construction (suitably understood) can be applied to construct generalized associahedra of any simply laced Dynkin type. Unexpectedly, we also show that this same construction produces Newton polytopes for all the F$F$‐polynomials of the corresponding cluster algebras. In addition, we show that the toric variety associated to the g$g$‐vector fan has the property that its nef cone is simplicial.

Understanding the phenotypic variability in root system architecture and root-shoot relationships across different growth stages of wheat is of utmost importance for the improvement of genotypes with enhanced nutrient uptake and resource-use efficiency. This study focused on identifying variations and relationships in the root and shoot characteristics of seven modern cultivars and twelve ancient wheat accessions of different species, including T. monococcum, T. turanicum, T. polonicum, T. mirabile, T. durum, and T. aestivum, during the early vegetative growth and stem elongation stages. The results demonstrated significant phenotypic variation among the genotypes for shoot traits, root biomass, rooting depth, R/S ratio, and seminal and nodal root numbers. When considering both growth stages, the dry land-adapted cultivar ‘Taner’and ancient wheat species, such as T. turanicum (2) and T. monococcum (1) accessions, exhibited deeper roots, which can enhance access to water in drought-prone areas. Furthermore, it was observed that modern wheat cultivars and T. turanicum accessions exhibited increased root biomass, suggesting a higher allocation of resources towards root growth, which could potentially enhance nutrient uptake. Conversely, T. monococcum accessions and T. mirabile revealed lower root biomass compared to other ancient species and modern cultivars. Additionally, the unrooted cluster analysis based on root biomass, rooting depth, and root to shoot ratio at both growth stages indicated a distinct separation of T. monococcum accessions and T. mirabile from other genotypes. Overall, these findings underscore the …

A measurement of the top quark pair-production cross section in the lepton + jets decay channel is presented. It is based on 4.6 fb(-1) of root s = 7 TeV pp collision data collected during 2011 by the ATLAS experiment at the CERN Large Hadron Collider. A three-class, multidimensional event classifier based on support vector machines is used to differentiate t (T) over bar events from backgrounds. The tt production cross section is found to be sigma(t (t) over bar) = 168.5 +/- 0.7(stat)(-5.9)(+6.2) (syst)(-3.2)(+3.4) (lumi) pb. The result is consistent with the Standard Model prediction based on QCD calculations at next-to-next-to-leading order.

In this paper, we analyze the loop-induced decays of neutral Higgs boson into pairs of photons, gluons and in 3-Higgs Doublet Models (3HDMs), where all the doublets have nonzero vacuum expectation values. In the 3HDM, there are contributions to these decays from loops of charged scalars that are not present in the Standard Model. We find an enhancement in the channel with respect to the Standard Model prediction in some parameter region while respecting constraints from the measurements of at the LHC. The charged Higgs bosons lead to the enhancement of decay mode in some part of the parameter space of the 3HDM. Then, we discuss the correlations between the decay modes and . Moreover, we study Type-I and Type-Z of 3HDMs and find that these types of 3HDMs can be distinguished via only the gluonic decays, since the contributions of the loops are dominant to …

The inclusion leads to weaker observed exclusion limits on the coupling constants divided by the scale of new physics of and and on the branching fractions and. The predicted exclusion limits on the coupling constants divided by the scale of new physics are and and on the branching fractions and. Updated distributions of the observed upper limits on the coupling constants for combinations of cgt and ugt channels are shown in Figure 10 a and on the branching fractions in Figure 10 b.

We analyse the loop induced decays of neutral Higgs bosons into pairs of photons, gluons, and Z in 3-Higgs Doublet Models (3HDMs), where all the doublets have non-zero vacuum expectation values. In the 3HDM there are contributions to these decays from loops of charged scalars that are not present in the Standard Model. We find that the can interfere constructively with the SM contributions (from the and fermion loops), thus these particles enable substantial enhancement of the loop induced decays in the 3HDM. Moreover, we study Type-I and Type-Z of 3HDMs and find that these types of 3HDMs can be distinguished via only the gluonic decays, since the contributions of the loops are dominant to those of fermion loops. We also examine the effects of the model parameters on these loop induced decays. As an interesting phenomenological consequence, the 3HDM is dominantly …

A search for the Z gamma decay of the Higgs boson, with Z boson decays into pairs of electrons or muons is presented. The analysis uses proton-proton collision data at root s= 13 TeV corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 139 fb (-1) recorded by the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider. The observed data are consistent with the expected background with a p-value of 1.3%. An upper limit at 95% confidence level on the production cross-section times the branching ratio for pp-> H-> Z gamma is set at 3.6 times the Standard Model prediction while 2.6 times is expected in the presence of the Standard Model Higgs boson. The best-fit value for the signal yield normalised to the Standard Model prediction is 2.0 (-0.9)(+ 1.0) where the statistical component of the uncertainty is dominant.(C) 2020 The Author.
